Boy_ep is Ryu’s first release for dotContemporary and what a label debut! The EP features 7 songs and clocks in at around 30 mins. The EP is a strange (but superb) mixture of avantgarde, electronic, pop and experimental music and there’s a certain playfulness, energy and sparkle to it.

Autumn is the new mini-album/EP by Jannick Schou. It’s a stunning piece of ambient microsound and it flows along in a really pleasant and gorgeous way that really makes you feel like floating. The piece gradually evolves through small and subtle changes in timbre, tonality and dynamic.

dotContemporary is proud to present our first hybrid release, which contains a delightful compilation of poems written by Matt Finney. The release also contains a selection of pictures belonging to the poems. It has all been mixed into a book in the .pdf format.

This album was born when we were halfway through recording Without End. We had a few songs that we really liked and we didn't know what we were going to do with them. Those tracks were "Cobain featuring Yawning", "Lark", "Honeymoon at the Holocaust Museum" and "DisMIX featuring Cylon". we had no idea what we were going to do with them but we knew we didn't want to throw them away.

We hereby bring you 50 minutes of pure noisy brilliance by Kenneth Kirschner. It’s piercing and blaring yet very (!!) beautiful and highly mesmerizing.  The pieces are – as stated in the interview below - entirely made out of fields-recordings. Kenneth has remastered the pieces, which means they sound better than ever. This is a release you shouldn’t miss.

Can’t Wait / Order is the second in a monthly series of singles by the newly signed duo, Buzzy Norse.

Meltdown/Block is the first in a monthly series of singles by the newly signed duo, Buzzy Norse. The single starts off with Meltdown - a gritty 'tech-monster' with a devastating climax: sweet! Next up's Block serving a solid blend of catchy melodies and fierce beats - massive! We here at .contemporary think that it's a pretty sweet first single!!!

Volume one’ is the first .contemporary compilation, and we think that it’s a pretty sweet first appearance. The compilation covers a variety of genres: from electro-madness (Squareshot, Electrostep) and post-IDM (Neon Rose, Inderviduality Music) to dubstep (Dominant Species, Vampires, The Fifth Siren) and drum and bass (Saturn) – heck, there’s even some ambient-greatness (The Sea) thrown in for good measures! Varying genres aside, we still think that it’s a coherent and – in many ways – quite extraordinary compilation.

Cylon wrote this:

Winter consists of four compositions I made during January and February. Each composition is based around me improvising (hence the titles) with different instruments and a program called gleetchlab. In order to keep the spontaneous and (sometimes) lively vibe of each composition I’ve kept post-production to a minimum – the only thing I’ve done is adding a few field-recordings and mixing and mastering. I hope you enjoy the end result.

Not only is this EP the first .contemporary release ever, it’s also Fors’ debut - and what a debut! Originally made 7 months ago, this release has gone through multiply states leading up to this the final result. It’s got all the lovely Fors-trademarks: thunderous electro-basses, catchy melodies and glitched-out beats. A coherent, atmospheric and danceable release, indeed. Download it!
